IT Administrator / Programmer

Universal Surveys Inc. has been providing expert Survey, CADD, and G.I.S. mapping services to the oil and gas industry since 1986. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill a position of IT Administrator / Programmer in our Calgary office. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for network maintenance including servers, workstations and firewalls. Support and further develop existing company databases. Develop web applications and tools for improved data management and processing. Provide job specific technical support and services as required.
Required skill and qualifications:
- Working experience with VB, ASP.Net, C#, Java, JavaScript, XML, PHP, ColdFusion and SQL
- Working knowledge of MySQL Database
- Knowledge of Linux, SQL Server, Windows 2003 Server, Apache Tomcat Server, and IIS
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- Working Knowledge of web-servers, security, DNS, and file systems
- Working knowledge of network infrastructure and Security (Intrusion detection, Firewalls)
- Working knowledge with Archive and storage technology
- Able to install and configure operating systems and applications software
- Knowledge of WebGIS and applications an asset
- Knowledge of FME by Safe Software and asset
- Bachelor's or technical college diploma in IT or a closely related field
Preferred qualities:
- Oil and gas industry experience an asset
